NOTICE OF HEARING FOR JUDICIAL IN REM TAX FORECLOSURE
A Petition for Judicial In Rem Tax Foreclosure has been filed in the Superior Court of Baldwin County, Georgia, in accordance with O.C.G.A. 48-4-75 et seq, and the Baldwin County Resolution dated July 15, 2003, by Cathy Freeman Settle in her official capacity as Tax Commissioner of Baldwin County.
Annie Clyde Duncan, Eddie Brown, Clement Foston, Mary Reeves and Arthur Brown are the record owners of the real property known as tax parcel M79-116, 1001 N Wilkinson Street, Milledgeville, Georgia, 31061 and described as follows:
All that tract or parcel of land situate, lying, and being in the City of Milledgeville, 320th GMD, Baldwin County, Georgia, and the same comprising a part of Lot Number Three (3), in Square Number Thirty-Six (36), according to Dr. Mitchell's official map and plan of said City, and the same containing one-fourth (1/4) acre, more or less, and being now or formerly bounded as follows: On the north by lands of W.F. Steel; on the east by lands of J.F. Boddie; on the south by Grady Street; and on the west by North Wilkinson Street.
This is the same property conveyed from W. Sam Edwards, as Executor of the Last Will and Testament of Annie Brown, deceased, to Annie Clyde Duncan, Eddie Brown, Clement Foston, Mary Reeves, and Arthur Brown by that Executor's Assent and Release dated March 6, 1981, and recorded in Deed Book 161, pages 635-638, Baldwin County records.
On February 3, 2026, a petition was filed in Baldwin County Superior Court seeking foreclosure of the ad valorem tax lien(s) for the years 2023 through 2025 in the amount of $5,536.69 as of February 3, 2026.
Pursuant to O.C.G.A. 48-4-79(a) a hearing shall be held, wherein all interested parties may intervene before this Court for this purpose of opposing the granting of the Petition and issuance of an Order and Judgment allowing for sale of the above listed property for delinquent ad valorem taxes pursuant to O.C.G.A. 48-4-75 et. seq., and to show cause as to why this Court should not grant such Petition as entered by Cathy Freeman Settle, Tax Commissioner, Baldwin County and relief prayed for therein.
